New Dissected and Resurrected LP review :
A new review of Freudstein’s ’Dissected & Resurrected’ remix LP has just surfaced online at Regenmag.com, a site dedicated to electronic, industrial and alternative music. This is what they had to say:
‘Freudstein’s remixes feel shiny and new while holding on to the darkness within...What’s truly appealing though, is the variety of sound. The first song, "Misadventure" plays like a VNV Nation remix of Depeche Mode, while the second, "Shadows" is a seductive down-tempo piece that will stay in your ears for a long while after the last note has faded. "Return to the Old Forest" attacks with a heavy bass drumbeat that skips from ear to ear, while beneath it plays a terror fantasy tune that captures the innocence and fear found in the most haunting horror films...’

Freudstein join the music industry debate in Indymedia article : 'From customer to pirate. How the recording industry is turning its customers and artists into pirates.'
Freudstein are interviewed in a powerful Indymedia article about the future of the music industry. The article 'From customer to pirate. How the recording industry is turning its customers and artists into pirates' interviews Freudstein, among others, about their views and experiences of current digital developments. The author, Linden Farrer, discusses the death of the CD, the rise of the Mp3, bit-torrent and the internet as powerful tools for bands to reject traditional music industry models, including i-tunes.
This debate was recently reingnited by Radiohead's recent digital self-release of their new album, In Rainbows. Leading one record industry insider to comment 'If the best band in the world doesn't want a part of us, I'm not sure what's left for this business.'

NEW 'Dissected & Resurrected' remix LP released :
'Tracks from last year's 'Mass Market Misery' album are remixed for dark and dirty dancefloors, combined here with some of Freudstein's own mixes of songs by kindred spirits Arkham Asylum, Chaos Engine and Swarf. The originals are stretched and broken on the rave rack, twisted in the industrial thumbscrews and fiendishly experimented upon until, against all odds, the resulting hybrid homunculus takes on a hideous life of its own. Recommended.' - Ben Graham, The Fly magazine

Live review in Arnhem, Holland :
Normally, the performers are supported by a live bass-player (and I read dancers?, on the website) but it's only David and Andrew here tonight. The duo combine singing and playing, and by jumping on and off the stage, into the 'crowd' it makes a good presentation. I have nothing to add than mentioning this was a welcome performance, with outstanding variations in music & performance, and overall an easy-to-digest party-band. Digesting the beer was unfortunately more difficult.' To read the full review visit: To view photos of the event visit:
'The mood is good, both the band and the audience are having a good time and that makes a good preparation for the gig. The music - indeed a weird mixture of styles - is interesting from the first to the last minute, making it an hour that passes away rapidly. Imagine Wolfsheim on crack, using breakcore beats, poured in some horror/punk-jacket and you kind of get the idea for tonight. - Eelco, Gothtronic E-zine

Pow Pow Pow Magazine Interview:
‘I want to rub people's faces in the horror of the world. There are too many people wandering around happy as pie not knowing what the fuck's going on. They say ignorance is bliss, but really, ignorance is just ignorance. The world is insane! People destroy trees to make green bits of paper and wonder where the trees have gone, you know?! ’ To read the full review visit:
Somewhere in space and time Freudstein are in their local Brighton pub with PowPowPow Magazine's journalist, Erin Young. The cider is flowing and questions are firing like bullets. Mp3 recorders die, shorthand is resurrected from the catacombs of journalism, and Beyonce is mentioned as a possible Freudette. If you've ever wanted to have a drink with the band, it'd probably go something like this.

With "Sister Sleaze" there is slightly glam like rock inclined something which already gives a fine foretaste on the complete album.’

Bizarre Magazine Online Review :
Freudstein have recently been reviewed in their favourite hallowed real-life horror institution that is Bizarre Magazine.
The magazine reviewed their latest album, Mass Market Misery, stating ‘The overall mood is enjoyably haunting; when they get it right, it's bang on the witch's nail. Instrumentals 'Return To The Old Forest' and 'Laura', especially, could effectively score the lead into any barbed-axe-in-the-eye Argento moment...Still, this remains a compelling little slab of theatrical misery. Rather like a low-budgeted Hammer gem on record.’ It's official, Freudstein are media whores, and just cant help themselves.

Russia's premier music website 'Dv music' have interviewed the band about their music, inspiration, world views and favourite horror films. In the online interview the duo reveal the ethos behind their new album, saying 'Mass Market Misery deals a lot with the virtual reality of modern life. The mainstream media's main job is to normalise the absurd existence we are living. It is there to create a false framed debate...All mass media is 100% biased towards the current system of world economics, their existence depends on it.'
